Women have a gazillion bathing suit options, but for some reason I always feel like guys get shorted in this department, especially when you are looking for a suit that’s on the shorter side.
And no, I’m not talking Magnum P.I. kind of short. I like to have fun with the length because it feels better when you get out of the water, and let’s not lie… it turns heads.
The other disclaimer of this little story is that there’s not a chance in the world that I’m going to pay $100+ for a bathing suit, and that’s the price point of many of the shorter options I find. That’s just crazy.
Since I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for I decided to go to Billabong and create my own solution.
I like the color combination on this bathing suit, but it’s a bit long for my taste. [Note: they fall above the knees which is still an acceptable length for most guys.]
Notice how there’s a darker blue section at the bottom of the shorts followed by a lighter blue section above that? I’m going to alter this bathing suit so that the length stops at the top of that light blue section. Yes, I’m altering a bathing suit.
This won’t work for all bathing suits due to patterns, but given how the pattern on this short is sectioned off, it should be an easy alteration that won’t end up looking odd.
In the end I’ll have a cool bathing suit that’s made out of great material and is the length I had in mind. It’s a win in my book, even if a little extra work is needed.
