While in Rochester over the weekend I stopped by Dado — a women’s clothing store that seemed to have some great items in stock.
In particular, there’s a pair of harem pants and a dress that immediately stood out and that’s what I’ll share with you in this post.
These harem pants ($110) by Gypsy 05 looked fantastic on the rack, and even better on the model.
They have a fun little star pattern and the mix of black, white, yellow and orange really seems to work. The pants are slightly see through until you get up to the upper thigh area where they have a lining that almost looks like a pair of shorts (you can sort of see that in this iPhone photo). I likely just butchered the description, but trust me when I say they look fantastic.
From a styling standpoint, go easy up top when deciding what to wear with these pants. You want the pants to be your focal point and if you add a busy top to the mix… you’re going to end up with a harem hot mess.
If you don’t normally wear harem pants, you should give them a try; you might be surprised at just how much you like them.
The second item that I really liked at Dado was this maxi dress from Patterson Kincaid.
It has a great tie-dye’ish pattern that utilizes blues/browns to perfection.
You could easily dress this up or down, and if you wanted, you could go so far as using it as a cover-up at the pool/beach. Granted, at $275 it would be a pricey cover-up.
The dress was a bit long for the model, but if you have the same problem you can do two things:
- Have it altered so that it doesn’t drag the ground. Seriously, don’t be too lazy to do this if need be.
- Tie it up as seen in the photo. You can still do this if you do option 1.
As I continue traveling around this summer I look forward to stopping in new shops and finding great fashion to share with you. I hope you like these two items as much as I did.
