Ever have a pair of jeans you just love? The wear-them-all-day-every-day kind of jeans that fit perfectly and look awesome? For me, that pair came in a very unlikely form: an acid washed denim pair that I purchased in London (gotta love Topshop!).

I know, I know…acid wash isn’t exactly the type of denim you can wear every day, but I jumped at every opportunity to wear my favorite jeans. Aside from being uber-comfortable from all the pre-washing they’ve been through, acid wash is just plain fun to wear. I can’t tell you how many strangers have complimented them, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little ‘80s throwback?

But sadly, as I’m sure many of my denim-loving friends know, there comes a time when your beloved denim is no longer a part of your wardrobe – whether your jeans have been accidentally lost or willingly tossed, a new search promptly begins for a pair that measures up.

So that’s where I’m at — I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of acid-washed denim for a few months now. The style I grew to love is no longer sold, so I’ve been searching high and low for a similar look.  Finally, I found them: MICHAEL Michael Kors distressed, acid washed skinny jeans. I saw them from afar and broke into a light sprint to snag it off the hanger.

Sorry this came out a bit blurry.

They may not be my old Topshop jeans, but this Michael Kors pair is some fierce competition. With a medium rise and a cigarette style pant leg, these jeans had serious potential. They’re exactly the wash I was looking for, and they’re just as comfortable as my ‘old faithful’.

If you’re a little hesitant to wear acid wash, stick with a solid color top – white is always a good choice and is a (literally) cool color choice for the scorching temps.

These jeans don’t seem to be available online, so pop into your Michael Kors store and search the racks for MICHEAL Michael Kors Stretch Denim Skinny Jeans in Cloud Blue, for $120.00.
