We exchanged a few tweets with some Twitter followers on this topic earlier this week, but I’m thinking we should make it official and call for the end of the tube top. Seriously girls, think about some of the tube top negatives:
- They give you mushy boobs
- They can create an armpit muffin top
- You constantly have to adjust them
Did I mention mushy boobs? Ugh!
Off the Shoulder Tops
There’s a great alternative that is raging back this year will be more popular this year than in the past, and that’s off the shoulder tops. What’s so great about these tops, and what I personally love, is that depending on the shirt, you can show different amounts of shoulder.
When you have one shoulder covered and the other peaking out, as if it shouldn’t be, it creates added sex appeal because somethings showing that typically doesn’t, or appears it shouldn’t be.
This Michael Stars Stripe Tie Dye Off Shoulder Dolman Tee is a pretty simple example that adds a little something extra with the fun tie dye look. For this option you could go more “appropriate” and have both shoulders partially covered, or let it hang off the shoulder. I guess you might say that off the shoulder tops are fun to wear because you can do so much with them.
The baggy sleeves are a nice touch for this particular option because they create a nice flowy look. If you’re a Coachella fan it’s probably safe to say that this particular shirt would have been right at home amongst the plethora of fashion at the event.
So, can we come to an agreement and end the tube top? If you’re a tube top advocate feel free to leave a comment and let use know why, but a great alternative would be an off the shoulder option like what’s above. Speaking of the shirt above, click here to pick it up for $82.
