For today’s New York Fashion Week street style post, you’re going to see some great fashion, as well as Paris Hilton, but I’ll also take you behind the scenes so you can see the part of this hoopla that I try to avoid.
The fashion, thus far this year, has been all over the place. There’s been good. There’s been bad. And there’s been down right please don’t ever wear that again scenarios.
Enjoy today’s shots!
But THIS guy, is NOT one of them. He’s the iconic, and now pretty famous in the fashion world, New York Times street style photographer Bill Cunningham. One girl actually waved him off and I couldn’t help but go over and say, “You have no idea who you just waved off do you?” She said, “No.” And I said, “I guess you didn’t see Bill Cunningham New York did you?” She said, “I did.” And I said, “So I guess you didn’t recognize Bill?” Then, suddenly, her jaw dropped and she turned white. She finds the most spectacular dresses. New Balance is hitting the fashion scene hard, again. Interesting cut on the skirt. I don’t know who she is, but she’s around 12 or 13 and is absolutely adorable. She was zipping around taking street style photos and I couldn’t help but smile when watching her. It didn’t hurt that she seemed to have a great eye. This is the hoopla I try to avoid. Some person standing, posing, and a mob of photographers standing around. Blah blah blah. Boring. This is just all around great. It’s a great combination of classic and sexy. Another look below. Just stunning. Short hair also seems to be a thing right now. Take note of the little girl from a few photos back in the background.
One thing I found pretty amazing is how well Paris (we’re on a first name basis now) made her way through the crowd. She walked just slow enough so that people could snap photos, but also kept the momentum up in an effort to move the crowd forward. And maybe, even more impressive, she kept busting out different poses, as seen above, along the way.
Absolute mobs of people around her. Hat tip to Fashables. Think they are texting each other? The pop of color with the bag was nice. The smile was even nicer. Speaking of bags, this one was pretty amazing.
