NYC Street Style Fashion: Not My Daughter

Today’s street style fashion post leans a bit towards the casual side, but there’s some great looks for you to pull ideas from.

Oh, and make sure you look at photo number three and the comment. Hopefully I won’t come off as sounding crazy, but the length of her shorts made me think, “those are way too short for a girl that age.”

Enjoy the shots!

Working the color combo.

Bikes are definitely part of the NYC fashion scene.

I  don’t plan on being a crazy dad should I ever be fortunate enough to have a child, but if I have a girl… I don’t think I’d be cool with shorts this short. She’s intentionally out of focus since.

There was a lot going on here.

Brown on brown.

I’m just wondering if the guy on the left has different color headphones for all of his outfits. And, let’s not overlook the Britney Spears shirt the guy on the right is wearing.

When you don’t have room to keep a bike in your apartment, bike rental (as these ladies have done) is always a fun option. If you go that route, wear a hat that looks this great and people will overlook the rental bag on the front of your bike. :)

I’ve not seen many vests this summer. Well played.

Unique.

Jean on jean. I don’t have a remote clue how this guy wasn’t sweating like crazy. It was probably around 90 degrees when this shot was snapped.

Take note of the cutouts in her shirt. That of course was one of the trends highlighted in our Fashion Blogger Summer Trend Report.

If she’d have smiled it would have been a fantastic moment. Glad you like her hat!

Yes, those shorts are too short. I’d tell my dd (if I had one) that short of the beach or in house, they aren’t appropriate street wear- especially sitting on public transport.

I wonder if females would feel the same way. And the public transit thought… yikes!

  • Larisa

The girl on a photo ” There was a lot going on here ” was pleasant! To it not hot!

I’m a woman and those shorts are way too short. For any age! I mean, you see part of her butt! Even in the house it’s not a good thing. ;-)

      Thanks for weighing in.

Woah, those shorts are too short. Also seconding what someone else said, that is way too much butt to be coming in contact with subway seats

      Thanks for the comment Tiffany.

Short shorts are never a “good to go” look. Just tacky! Love these posts Ryan. Look forward to them every week!
