No Mr. Rogers Worries with this Look

Mr. Rogers has forever, or at least for those in their late 20′s and up, made a claim to the button up sweater. Some people think they are “nerdy.” Others think they are cool. But it’s time to bridge the two schools of thought and say that depending on the style, it’s definitely a wearable look.

This post highlights an example of what I mean by “depending on the style.”

To start, I added a base layer to the look with the Club Monaco Matty Heathered Cotton Shirt (navy). It’s an extremely soft shirt that’s going to easily be a fall/winter staple for me. It retails fro $79.50, but I’m telling you… you’ll wear the heck out of this shirt.

Next up, let’s add the Seth Striped Blazer to the mix. It has a touch of weight to it for added warmth as the temperatures drop, and it’s red and blue stripes (and the front pockets) add a nice touch of style. I’m wearing a small in this photo and should note that it fits on the large end of the scale.

I was a fan of the unbuttoned feel with this (sweater) blazer, but also like the look of the buttoned look. It might feel a bit tight the first time you button it, but things will stretch and you’ll be good to go.

Hopefully this post has shown you that the “Mr. Roger sweaters” can be pretty cool.
