My First Trip to the Hamptons

I’ve lived in New York City for just over two years and going to the Hamptons hasn’t been a priority. Actually, it’s not even been on my radar. I’m a simple guy, in most cases, and the Hamptonian Hoopla (just made that up) didn’t appeal to me.

Now with all that said, I made my first trip to the Hamptons (Sag Harbor to be specific) last weekend and it was quite nice. In some ways it seemed like an Any Town USA kind of place, but in others, it’s beyond the reality that many can comprehend. If you think you’ve seen the biggest house you’ve ever seen, there’s likely one a bit larger in the Hamptons.

Here’s a few photos snapped during the short stay.

Setting the scene.

I won’t even begin to act like this pool wasn’t amazing. Absolutely stunning.

Lot’s of fruit consumed over the weekend.

The house was immaculate.

A look from the first living room out to the kitchen. Yes, I said the first living room. There were three.

The kitchen was larger than most Manhattan apartments.

A dining room table. Likely more for looks than use.

When it goes to interior design, books can make a huge difference.

It was SO good.

You totally wanted to see a fruit from inside a local market, right? Glad I could cover that for you.

This is the town of Sag Harbor. Very cute. And like I said earlier, it very well could be Any Town, USA.

And there were boats. Lots of very very large boats.

I was only there for roughly a day and a half so we didn’t venture out a ton, but there was some noticeable fashion on display.

And there were plenty of people on bikes… but they just so happened to be wearing bikinis.

I’ll be heading back to the Hamptons in August for a week and anticipate doing a bit more exploring and look forward to sharing those shots with you. Hope you enjoyed this limited Glimpse at the Hamptonian lifestyle.
