While taking a glance in my closet yesterday I realized there are two clothing items that I could easily put atop a “favorites” list at the moment.
Each item has it’s own element of style, and most importantly, each is comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down.
In the shots below you’ll see them both: a blue/white striped shirt (slim fit) from J.Crew and a ridiculously fun pair of Cole Haan penny loafers.
I’m not one of those guys that you’ll see wearing a three-piece suit when it’s 95 degrees, or dressing to the nines only to secretly be sweating to death. Comfort, especially during the hot summer months, is very important to me. And both of these items help add a touch of style to just about any outfit, but also play a part in helping me keep cool. For instance:
- The J.Crew button down is lightweight
- The Cole Haan penny loafers can be worn with no socks
And since I’ve talked about staying cool, both items can easily be worn with shorts (seen above). Wearing penny loafers with shorts might be a new look for some, but it’s a classic look that can easily elevate even the simplest pair of shorts.
