Wingtips are something I’ve really enjoyed wearing for a while now, and one of my new favorite pair is the Johnston & Murphy McPherson’s.
Surprising as it may be, I’ve never actually owned a pair of shoes from the brand, but when I saw these I walked in the store and instantly liked them a lot.
The McPherson’s seems to be a well made suede shoe and the wooden soles (they have track pads so you don’t slip) almost make them look handcrafted.Their leather lining and padded insole (seen above in shot 2) make them very comfortable to walk around in; I’ve walked in them for miles in the city and am yet to have any sort of issue.
Thus far I’ve dressed the shoe up and also dressed it down, and the versatility is something the average guy will like. And when I say dressed down, you could literally wear the Johnston & Murphy McPherson with shorts and no socks and it be perfectly acceptable.
The shoe also comes in two color choices: camel (seen above) and off white. If you happen to like both colors, I’d suggest purchasing the camel first, as it’s more of a staple, and if you enjoy them, pick up the off white at a later day.

Note: shoes gifted by Johnston & Murphy. Opinions are my own (read: yes, I really do like them).
