I think it’s really important to wind down after work, and for me, there’s no better way to do so than taking a walk and snapping some photos. I’ve not done this little activity for a really long time, but I did so last night and it was amazingly refreshing.

She was lovely.

The mixture of the blues was spot on. Very sharp. Take note how the tie matches the pant color.

Saw this guy and it reminded me to mention something about shorts. Guys, if you’re shorts are falling below your knees, you have to stop. Seriously. This guy is a bit extreme, but an inch or two above your knee will do.

I missed this shot, but it was _ that close from being fantastic. The flow of her skirt was eye-catching.

It was almost 80 degrees in the city. And that makes the southern in me VERY happy!

The Cole Haan trend for the last couple of years is to infuse color into classic designs, and they continue to do so this year.

The Great Jones Wingtip comes in a variety of color options, but I opted for grey, or as they call it, Ironstone. The grey will go with just about everything, but more importantly, the shoe sole is mint green. And if you’ve been paying attention to fashion, you know mint green is definitely “in” and will be for quite a while.

I’ve snapped a number of shots below for you to review. Don’t judge the images too harshly as they were taken with my iPhone in low lighting.

The shoes comes with white laces, but as you’ll see below I’ve given them a little extra flavor.

Not only are you going to love how the wingtip looks, you’re going to really enjoy how comfortable they are.

Here you’ll see I’ve added some green laces to notch up the style just a bit. I suggest you do the same.

This little detail is a nice touch.  

Out for the first walk.

I’ve been wearing lots of blue lately, but I’ll be able to pair the Cole Haan Great Jones Wingtip with a ton of stuff. Depending on what colors you wear the most, this may or may not be a great color option for you.

One of the many treasures in this city is an elevated park, appropriately called, The Highline. Back in the day it was an elevated train track, but as the city grew the tracks stopped being used. That is, until it became wildly popular green-space.

The photos below were taken on my way to The Highline, and a few were snapped while we were on it. Oh, and there’s one little Ben Affleck photo surprise at the end. Enjoy!

This photo was taken shortly after entering the West Village. Pretty right? Better be. Because it will cost you a boat load – a very very large boat – to live on this street. I’m talking a cruise ship.

The Highline has all sorts of art installations, including this one.

And it has things line this as well.

And you’ll also spot messages from God’s assistant.

This is a building I’d never actually seen before. Pretty cool design.

The Highline provides constant amusement. Granted, if you go early in the morning or late in the day… that’s when it’s true beauty can be spotted. Look at the brick building off in the distance. It’s a massive apartment complex that takes up an entire city block. My guess is that it may have been a post-war development for soldiers. That’s just a guess though.

Even amongst the crowd, it’s easy to spot a stylish model.

You’ll see that some of the old rail-lines are still in place.

And last but not least, I was walking to the gym earlier this week and spotted Ben Affleck having his photo taken with a fan. He looks just like you’d expect him too. Solid dude.

Last weekend included lots and lots of walking. So I, of course, did lots and lots of snapping.

The weather. It’s about to crack. I can feel it. And others can feel it. We just want it to be summer so darn bad!

I can’t begin to tell you how much I love that it’s finally getting warmer outside! The change in temperature literally makes New York City feel like a completely different city, at least it does for me.

I was walking home last night and stumbled on the premiere of the new Leonardo DiCaprio movie, Gatsby, at Lincoln Center. Lots of hoopla for sure.

I know it’s been a bit slow on the blog lately, but that’s sort of on purpose. The winter really beat me down this year, and I’m done with cold weather, and the fashion that comes with it. As temperatures warm up in the city I’ll be hitting the streets on a more regular basis to bring you tons of great fashion. Because this has always been fun for me… and when it stops being fun, well, you know how that goes.

You never know what you’ll see when walking around New York City. Sometimes it’s great fashion. Sometimes it’s an insanely expensive car. And other times you’ll see something that, for some reason, makes you stop and appreciate the moment. You’ll see examples of all three in today’s post.

I spotter her walking across the street and the outfit was unexpected, but fantastic. It’s hard to fully appreciate without seeing the skirt flow.

Patterned pants. Big last summer. Bigger this summer.

This is one of those stop in your track moments. I can’t fully explain why, but where else, other than a Vespa dealership, will you see three random Vespa’s parked side-by-side? I’d love to have one.

Can you imagine how awesome it would have been to seen a rat crawling on the sidewalk? It would have been instant Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

We’re still dealing with up and down temperatures in the city, and you’ll see that reflected in the layering most folks are doing. You’ll also notice that color is being brought back, and that’s a great thing.

A little spring, and a little summer.

In a blink of any eye you can spot someone stylish.

And before you blink again the moment could pass you by, literally. Wish I was able to frame this better. Could have been wall worthy.

Practically all guys should be able to wear this look.

Here’s a great example of spotting fashion. Sometimes all you can see is a person’s head, but that’s enough to make you feel like they may be wearing something great.

And it’s always fun when those intuitions are right. Great jacket paired with distressed denim.

There’s plenty of warm weather fashion to come, but there’s one thing that’s already standing out to me. And that’s sunglasses. I’m guessing that the reason is because it’s not quite warm enough – back in the 50′s later this week – for people to go full throttle with their fashion creativity just yet, so they are having fun with shades.

The temperatures are on the rise in New York City! In fact, tomorrow, it’s supposed to be in the mid-70′s. Woot!

I’m not sure what it was about the winter, but it seemed to kick my butt more than the previous two I’ve experienced in the city. A lack of time outdoors really does take a toll on your body and mind!

Temperatures were relatively mild over the weekend so you’ll see that some folks are still bundled up, but others were certainly testing the temps.

It’s as if she was just standing there waiting on me to snap her. Glad to do so. (army green was everywhere over the weekend)

The girl on the right owned this look! And don’t overlook the shoes. But ladies, one quick note on the cutout shoulder look. This in no way is to be mean, but I saw a woman wearing this type of top the other day, in addition to having a cutout in the back, and it wasn’t flattering. Make sure your body is toned in the cutout area – assuming you care – because the tops can quickly become unflattering.

For some reason I really dig her.

Bike fashion. Observe the jean jacket. They were widely used as a layering tool over the weekend.

And some people pretended it was a bit warmer than it was. Bonus points for the two-toned shades.

Definitely take note of her pants. And the pendant. You’ll also see that she has layered the outerwear (jean and leather).
