Fashables launched at the beginning of this year and things seem to be going well, but I wanted to be proactive and start making more friends in the world of fashion blogging.  That being said, I decided to attend the IFB New York Fashion Week blogger conference yesterday.

The event was extremely well attended and took place at the renowned Mac & Milk Studios in Chelsea. Of the hundred or so people in attendance I was proud to be one of the 14 (+ or – a few) guys at the conference. And let’s not overlook the fact that being a straight male blogger is about as unique as being a Southern guy living in New York City.

Between the sensory overload from the plethora of great outfits (lots of fur) and all of the estrogen in the room… there was a lot going on (that’s not a bad statement so don’t get all feminist on me).

Now for a few photos taken at random points throughout the day.

Attendees getting settled just before the conference kicked off.

My iPhone doesn't do this shot, or the coat, justice. Amber really seemed to make this work.

One of the sponsor areas. Not much going on for the guy bloggers. There were even free Levi's jeans for the ladies. Guys? Notta.

Panelists during one of the sessions.

The panelists were made up of industry insiders and successful bloggers that I couldn’t help but envy. Speaking of bloggers, I was fortunate enough to meet some folks with a high level of awesomeness and I’d like to share their blogs with you (some are farther along than others, but they are all great people) incase you’d like to see what their up to.

As Fashables continues to grow (thanks to you!) I’d like to share fun little experiences, such as the blogger conference, with you along the way. Oh, and let me mention one thing about growing. If you are interested in being a contributor to the site shoot me a message and let’s chat.

As always, thank you very much for taking the time to stop by and check out our fashion flavor. If you haven’t already done so, please click here to receive new posts via email (we don’t send you junk) and click here to follow us on Twitter.
