There’s a lot of outerwear and shoes to see below. But I wouldn’t recommend you wear most of these shoes in the snow.

I thought about this a bit over the course of the last week, and I have a confession to make. And that’s that I had almost no desire to shoot during New York Fashion Week.
I don’t know if it was the cold, the rain, the snow, or the fact that I’m tiring of the contrived outfits and people making their way to Lincoln Center just to see if they can get their photo taken. It’s just not what I’m interested in. I want to photograph stylish people in normal environments, and if I had to guess… I’d say you appreciate those shots as well.
So in the end, I literally spent about one hour shooting outside of Lincoln Center, and a large chunk of that time was spent standing around on wet, snow covered ground… and it wasn’t much fun. But, nonetheless, there’s some fashion for you to see in this post, and one post still to come. I hope you enjoy the shots, but I certainly look forward to hitting the streets and doing what I love to do. And that’s snapping “normal’ish” people.

I was able to make it to Lincoln Center for about 30 minutes to snap some shots, and have some fun fashion for you to see today. I hope to go back and take more photographs on Saturday and Sunday, but that will depend on how the little snowstorm we’re getting impacts the weekend.

I can’t for the life of me figure out what I did to conquer the cold last year. Maybe the winter as a whole was milder, but this years winter is kicking my butt. I went out to shoot on Saturday and ended up getting so cold that my shooting finger (the one that pushes the magic button) wasn’t cooperating with what my brain wanted it to do. So, I snapped a few shots, got annoyed and went home to warm up.
Fashion Week kicks off this week so there should be some pretty amazing shots to come. Stay tuned for that.

And hey, let’s quickly address the monkey in the room. I’ve not been posting as much because I’ve had very few chances to shoot. I thought about going out to snap some photos last Saturday… but it was insanely cold. I’ll take one for the team, but standing outside when it’s 22 degrees is a bit much.

We had great weather in New York City over the weekend and I couldn’t have been more exciting to go out and shoot for a bit on Saturday. There was style galore, which made me feel like a kid in a candy store.

Between holidays, rain, and quick trips out of town, I’ve had very little time to shoot lately. If the weather is good this weekend I should have plenty of time to shoot, which means there will be plenty of fun fashion to see next week.
For today, you’ll see fur, shoes, bags, a little men’s fashion… and a not so good note from a business impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

I headed out to shoot on Saturday and had the worst time. I wasn’t dressed properly, and due to my lovely allergies I took a Benadryl just before heading out. Genius right? Then, on top of that I managed to get my preferred camera setting out of whack and couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Joy.
BUT, I went back out on Sunday with my camera fixed and a heavier coat. Some of what I captured can be seen below.

The weather went from chilly to flat our very cold in New York City, and it’s admittedly taking me a little bit to adjust to the colder temps while shooting. But it’s also fun to see how people are bundling up, while still maintaining a high level of style.

I can’t even begin to tell you how great it felt to go out and shoot on Saturday. I’ve learned that shooting street style isn’t just something I love to do, but also an outlet for a little creative alone time, which is something I need. Maybe that’s tied to being an only child. Who knows.

As I’ve mentioned before my shooting is primarily limited to the weekends due to lack of daylight. We had another dose of bad weather last weekend and I didn’t end up taking a single shot. I went for a short walk after leaving my day job last night and decided to take some shots along the way. Consider this a fashionable tour of NYC at night, with a pit stop at a little church you may of heard of.
