I’ve realized that once it gets hot outside that my personal style becomes very simplistic. Some guys layer to the nines and pretend they are taking part in some sort of daily fashion show, but that’s just not realistic.

The temperature will rise up to close to 100 degrees in New York City today, and in subway language that equals, “It’s going to be very very hot while waiting underground for the subway to come.” I could easily toss on a T-Shirt after work and call it a day, but I’m forcing myself not to be T-Shirt man all summer and am picking up some button down options.

This is a very simple short sleeve button down from Club Monaco (Justin Cotton Linen – wearing a small) that fits the bill perfectly. There are a few different things that I like about this particular shirt:

  • It comes in a variety of different colors
  • It’s lightweight and will allow you to pull off “dressy casual” on hot summer days
  • The shirt could easily be tossed on with just about any pair of shorts in your wardrobe

And on top of all that, it feel really well. I don’t know about you, but it often seems like finding short sleeve button downs is such a chore. Either the designs are “blah,” or the fit is all over the place. There have been many times where I’ve had to bump up a size because of the fit, which results in a shirt that could resemble a small parachute. Not good.

If you’re in the market for some easy to wear short sleeve button down shirts, Club Monaco just might have what you are looking for.
