I’ve not talked a ton about our October wedding plans, but there’s something I’d like to share with you.
Checking the mail is something I normally avoid doing, but I decided to give it a go yesterday. Upon doing so I pulled out a mess of mail and started flipping through it as I walked to the elevator.
First there was a bill. Then there was some anti-Obama type mailing. Then there was a NYC voter guide. And then… there was our wedding invitation!
I knew the invitations were going out this week, but it never dawned on me that we’d receive one. Although, it’s nice to know we’re invited.
The wedding is just under two months away, and seeing the invitation suddenly made it feel a bit more real. It’s as if we said, “Ok people, we’re really doing this!”
Back to the invitation.
I knew what the designs looked like, but this was the first time I’d actually held it in my hand and I was dying to open it. But being a good fiance I waited until I saw my better half and we opened it together. And I freaking love it!
It’s simple, yet different, and it has just enough flavor to make it “right.”
I’ve not photographed the invitation just yet, but I did snap a photo of the stamp that was on the outside of the envelope. Take a look below.
The irony behind the stamp photo is that it’s part of a photo series snapped in a photo both at wedding last June, and is now being used for our wedding.
I’ll share the rest of the invitation when appropriate, but I just wanted to share this happy moment in time with you. There’s a lot of awesome things to come!
